Floating City and Procreate Brushes

Updated: Aug 11, 2023

I wanted to create a collection of artworks in Procreate using my own hand made textures. I started watching all the brush tutorials I could find on Skillshare! I ended up creating 16 brushes based on charcoal, markers, chalk and pencil, dedicated to line work, shading, pattern texture fills and calligraphy work.

If you would like to try the brushes you download them from my Creative Market Shop

I then thoroughly tested these by creating the Floating City collection. These are digital collages created with hand-drawn textures, using a range of dry media and paper types. Contrasting messy organic hand-drawn elements with the precision and accuracy of digital. The collection features fragments of suspended city’s in empty landscapes; minimal interiors, surreal staircases, windowed walls, with bold colours and geometric forms in textural childlike scribbles. Forms are stripped down to the essential and reflect the reoccurring patterns found in urban and natural environments. If you would like to purchase an art print you can do so in my Etsy shop
